Our new groups -  SUMMER ACTIVITIES 2010       

MONDAYS  Time to Chill Drop-In – A Relaxed atmosphere to chill out after a hard week. Chat over coffee/tea, soothing music and taster hand/neck massages. Time to chill is for new/existing Clients to The Isis Project. Easy come, easy go you do not have to stay for the 2 hours. Commencing Monday 7th June between 10am-12pm.

 

AFTERNOONS -

“Create”– Come and join us on our create group. Card making/sewing/art/knitting – Enjoy your favourite craft and learn new ones. You don’t need to be artistic or have any previous experience to enjoy this friendly and supportive group. Commencing Monday 7th June 2010 1-3pm for 7 weeks.

Tuesday Mornings

Aspire to Achieve - **new**- To enable participants to develop and value their positive attributes which will enable them to become confident and proactive in their search for employment/volunteering. The opportunity to develop their self worth will be a first base that enables women to nurture their self esteem and apply their new skills to make a positive contribution to themselves, their local community and the local economy. Commencing Tuesday 8th June 10am-12pm for 7 weeks. Facilitated by Inayah

 

Tuesday Afternoons

Look Great, Feel Great - **new**- Come relax and enjoy this beauty course designed to give you tips on looking after yourselves. From manicures to facials, find the new shiny YOU!!! This will bring out your inner goddess. There will be a small charge of £1 per session just to cover creams, oils, polish or make-up. Commencing Tuesday 8th June 1pm-3pm for 7 weeks. Facilitated by Lucy

Women of Wisdom – Aromatherapy - The WOW! Group –. Come and chat over coffee or tea, make new friends and meet old ones. This group is very relaxed and will give you the skills and knowledge in massage techniques and oils. Commencing Tuesday 8th June 1-3pm.This group will take place at St Walburgas Church, please meet at Isis at 12.45 if unsure where to go.

 


Wednesday

Wednesday Mornings - 

Basic ICT Skills – Step 1 – This course is for complete beginners – eerr! Where is the on/off switch! It will cover basics such as confidence in using IT, Information and guidance, Computer Safety (eg virus alerts), access to the Internet, Keyboard skills and basic documents . Commencing Wednesday 9th June 10am-12pm for 7 weeks. Facilitated by Jean

 

Wednesday afternoon -

Basic ICT Skills – Step 2 – This course is for women ready to move to the next level, if you are already familiar with the computer this is the one for you! You will learn how to use spreadsheets maybe for preparing a budget for home, presentation skills, Internet use, online applications & producing professional looking documents inc CV’s if wanted. Commencing Weds 9th June, 1-3pm for 7 weeks. Facilitated by Jean who is very experienced at teaching from scratch.

Stay and Play **New** The main purpose of "Stay and Play" is to give parents and children a chance to meet others and play together. You can access toys & equipment that you may not have at home and an opportunity to get stuck into creative activities. Parents must stay for this session as their children will be their responsibility, but our Early Years Practitioners, Sara and Shabana will be leading the sessions. Commencing 9th June. 1-pm-3pm. Facilitated by Sara and Shabana.

Jewellery Making **New* This is a nice relaxing course run by an Isis ex-service user. You will be taught and experience the techniques to make you own "designer" jewellery. No skills needed. It is a light hearted, fun group where you can also come for a coffee and a chat. A small charge will be made for materials. By referral only. This is run at our Bingley Group commencing Weds 9th June 1pm-3pm for 7 weeks. Facilitated by Delicia and Theresa at Bingley Childrens Centre (new venue)


Thursday

Thursday Mornings -

Confidence Building  –  Come and learn some of the techniques which can help you to feel confident about managing your life and dealing with other people. There are tools which can help you. Have fun, practice being calm and confident in a safe environment; learn about yourself and what you need to be the person you would like to be. Commencing Thursday 10th June 10am-12pm for 7 weeks. Facilitated by Yolande.

 

Thursday Afternoons -

Mixed Emotions –This is the course for you if you struggle to deal with the whole range of emotions – anger, sadness, joy – and are looking for ways to express yourself, be heard and understood. Commencing Thursday 10th June  1-3pm for 7 weeks. Facilitated by Yolande. 

Baildon Satellite **New** - Come along for a chat and coffee to our new group run at the Baildon Link Centre on Baildon Green. The group will have a range of activies each week eg cook & eat, arts & crafts etc. Bring your children along, free childcare available!! By referral only. Commencing Thursday 10th June, 1pm-3pm. Facilitated by Anisa and Theresa at Baildon Link, Cliffe Ave, Baildon.

Free Childcare
Free childcare is linked to all these activities.  The Isis Project has a well equipped Crèche which is run by  our qualified Early Years Practitioners, who provides a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for all pre-school age children from birth upwards.


Please Notewritten referrals are required for all NEW CLIENTS wishing to attend our project.  Please send referrals to:

Guidelines

We are a women only project, providing a wide range of support groups. 
 
Our Project does NOT provide any individual counselling.
 
Women who  attend our Centre are welcome to access all of our activities. We are developing an exit strategy which will enable women to move on into other services locally and city wide. We do  recognise that individual needs vary.
 
We do not provide transport or reimburse travel expenses.
 
It is important when referring clients to ensure they are well enough to cope within a Group and are likely to attend.
